steering column not reaching rack ???

I'd compare the old to the new intermediate shaft. If they're the same length and it used to be connected, the problem has to be the column or how you mounted the rack. Are you sure it's the same rack?

i dont think its the rack since it did it before i changed it

It's sounds like you've driven the car. If that's the case it must have been connected at some point.

still no luck thinking im gonna have to try a new column since i cant see what else it could be
