I've read somewhere that the Supra is going to make a come back in U.S. (with the Z getting all the laurels now). When it will (probably 2005), it will have a 3.5L V6. I suppose turbo is going to be an option.
I doubt that it will be available on the Lexus, though (at least, the GS).
basically:
V6 replaces L6 (changing along with the Crown series in August)
it's a new V6. should be quiet and smogless yet sporty and powerful. it's a small engine so the car's weight balance would be great. smaller engine room means more interior space.
smaller engine will greatly help Aristo's handling. center of gravity would be low and to the center.
2 types of engine: 3.0 N/A, 3/0 turbo.
N/A is 3.0 V6 makin 250hp, turbo is sequential twin turbo. now that the supra is gone, this engine will be an Aristo-speciality. max power over 350hp. full of potential!

I read about the new supra in some chinese and japanese Magazine(yes, i am asian) they said the supra is gonna be 400 horsepower and V8, according to the new smog test in Japan, lot of cars is gonna be supercharge. Skyline is an example they will put a V6 supercharge in it.
so the new generation of Janpanese sports car is more likely to be supercharge.
These are what i read, but they r pretty accurate.

They mentioned that the 3.0 V6 will be a completely new unit. I think they made it completely new because they need to make it compatible with both N/A and Turbo forms. Don't think you can easily turbo the new 3.3 V6. They're probably designing the new 3.0 V6 with both N/A and turbo in mind (3.0 liter producing 250hp is very nice. It takes Honda 3.2 and Nissan 3.5 liter to produce that much
) (please don't include the torqueless F20C)

if that's possible i wouldn't mind paying more then GS430's price for a V300's 2JZ-GTE
unfortunately they don't do things like that. new engine means new emissions testing and crash testing and etc. etc. unless they included the engine choice in the lineup, you can't order a special engine
