Default Anyone ever remove tiptronic controls from 2gs steering wheel?

Just purchased a Blackwood steering wheel from Japan. Apparently it's sold without the tiptronic controls pre-installed. Has anyone ever removed or replaced the stock tiptronic controls?

Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.

Not sure exactly. From the pics and what lexus is telling me its just blank holes at those locations. Would have to relocate controls from current wheel and utilize existing air bag. The last steering wheel I purchased for this car was plug and play. (Re-used air bag) but after looking at the back of my stock wheel it doesn't seems as if there's an easy way to remove tiptronic controls.

Some wheels come gutted (without horn assembly, cruise control, etc) so u have use your existing ones. Others come with all that so it's plug n play.

You can most definitely take them out. I have done so. Use a small flat head screw drive or pick in order to pry each button up. You will need to unpin the plug in order to be able to pull it out. If you want to wait I can try to put together some pictures for you.

If you could post pics that would be awsome! For as much as I spent on the wheel, I definitely want to get it done right!

so after a much long wait my wheel finally arrived. Thanks to all who responded but I am still unclear how to actually remove the e shift controls. Before I can disconnect wires I have to remove button first correct?

anyone local want to make some extra cash and transfer the internals of my old steering wheel to my new gutted steering wheel?

There ya go!! I was going to post a comment that Tiptronic is a registered trademark of Porsche and all that. But you figured it out on your own.

Good luck getting the buttons out. Sounds like it's completely do-able.

So I figured out how to pry them out. Now regarding the 2 wires it seems as if they're soldered together? Should I cut and re-solder?

Match is probably 7-8 out of 10. Came from Toyota Japan and was crazy expensive. My current Blackwood has a brown hue to it...the wheel itself doesn't have that but definitely matches the Blackwood. Ill post pics tonight
