"Tire Eater"
Probably would be quieter with just less rubber on the road. I still can't explain the widely different results on the db. Went to the TireRack site and after a quick look at the bad reports on the db, it is amazing how many are either bimmers or guys who described themselves as agressive drivers. As an ex bimmer owner I can tell you that they are quite hard on tires because the suspensions are so sensitive to the tire condition and the suspension is rather easy to get out of alignment. Not a flame but Custom Alignment in Mtn. View is the only one that could consistenly cure the "bimmeritis", the shake in the steering wheel around 60 mph with a super balance and alignment. Problem was, it would come back after five thousand miles or so and you had to be very religious on balancing the tires and keeping the suspension in align, something the local bimmer dealerships were not adept at. Like I said, I have not had a problem with the dbs and they are quiet, at least for me. If you want to buy based on the TireRack owner reviews, looks like the Bridgeston S03 is a good choice. Wish we could get this resolved. A while ago, there was another Dunlop, forget which one, that got a bunch of good press so we put it on my wife's Maxima and it was one of the worst tires I have ever had. Had to get rid of them after six light months of wear due to noise, strange wear, and inability to balance. Just don't want to try them again yet.
i see alot of complaints about yokos making noise i have them on my 16s and i thought they were quiet until they started making some noise. the trick is to rotate your tires often!!!!!!! every 3K i just do it when i get my oil changed. if you do that you should be fine.
