Yep, exactly what I was thinking. No way that should be normal. Fairly certain its the driver side servo but I'm gonna be at the shop tomorrow and disconnect it to see if the sound goes away. If it does then I'm gonna go pick one up at the dealer tomorrow. It's annoying as hell LOL

Hello, I've similar noise coming on cold start from my GS300 2001. I just wanted to follow up on this forum to see if you could finally figure it where this sound comes from. (which part is broken/bad) And how much could it cost to repair it? Any help/info would be appreciated. Also is it a serious issue or I could ignore it as minor problem?

Afternoon, just picked up an 03 GS300 SportDesign last weekend. Only thing I can find wrong with it is this buzzing noise that ONLY appears on startup. And it does go away. It kinda sounds like the motors for the steering column but they all work normally. So not 100% sure but I thought I'd get some more opinions.

got the same issue. Also have a wooshing sound (like blowing air across an empty water bottle top)

I think I have it figured out. (Partially) one sound (the high pitched annoyance) is the alternator. My gauges and lights have been getting kinda dull. The other is cold air blowing into the glove box because of a screwed up servo motor
