Hi everyone,

Has anyone purchased this model without the NAV system?

Thanks,

They aren't making too many 2003 GS430s. Here in the midwest they don't even get one per month per dealer. So the dealers are loading them up with options and normally only doing black on black (at least here in the midwest). I think you would probably have to special order the car without Nav.

Yeah,

But the dealer's attitude is : everyone we get is coming with both. They act like they can't be ordered without both.

Well they can certainly be ordered (tell them you want the Blue Marlin color and when you get it, post a picture since Red Baron can't get his wife to post a picture of his

Just kidding Red Baron.

BTW, some dealers are more willing to order one than others.

You may have to special order (which takes approx 3 months) but you can certainly get a GS w/o NAV or any other way that you want it, within the allowable combinations that the factory will build. So, I have no spoiler, no NAV and no chrome wheels, but an otherwise loaded GS.

Cause that's the way I wanted it. You can, too!!

I got a Black/Tan GS430 w/o Nav. The only options were rear spoiler, 17" wheels, cargo net, wheel locks, and wood/leather steering wheel. It took my dealer about a week to get in. It came from the port in Jacksonville. He had the same car only in Parchment Crystal/Tan in stock, also w/o NAV.

Salespersons always want to take the path of least resistance and try to steer you into a car they have or usually get.

Just call around and find a dealer willing to get you want you want.

If I was buying a NEW GS430 though, I'd get nav because by the time you come to resell it, almost all new cars will offer nav or have it standard.

I agree with Bitkahuna about the future of navigation. Also, when I was at Hennessy in Atlanta about 3 weeks ago, they had 4 or 5 new 2003 GS430s on the lot, loaded and w/o nav. And sticker price is $2k less than last year!!!

Hey everyone. Thanks for the quick responses. It looks like one can be ordered as desired...a 3-4 month delivery timeframe.

As far as for resale down the road, I'll take the chance and not pay for it now. Besides, the best argument I have with my wife is that this car is such a great buy under 50K with taxes etc...compared to what the price for a 540 is when you get what you want...
