Default Snow salted roads taste bad

I'm next door in Minneapolis. So far this year, no snow plows, no snow, and the GS is getting some winter travel time. I won't drive my GS when the roads are crappy. Two reasons...

1st-The car handles like crap. Even using the snow mode and siped tires, its almost impossible to get the car moving forward at a stop light with just a little bit of snow on the ground. I've got Chevy cavaliers and Ford Escorts flying by me as my cars is fighting the traction control system.

2nd-the salt and sand will find it way in places you'll never get clean. The cracks between the wheel wells will eventually rust. However, I never seen a rusty **** GS yet. Lexus might have done some research on rust control. Chevy, Ford, Honda, take notes.....

Cheers....

Yes, I agree. The salt is a pain to get off and is really really bad for the car. I have been leaving my GS in the garage and have been a big baby about taking it out !!! I have access to a heated eight car garage about a mile away where I usually wash the car and I have been too worried about taking the car there. I have chrome rims and those are what I worry about the most.

i'm in western mass.......same deal here. i suggest washing off the salt regularly. every other day but at least once a week. salt can kill a car but not like the old days.......it's still bad though.

i bought a pressure washer and wash off the salt with warm water and some soap. it's not perfect but it's good enough until i make it to the touchless lazer car wash.

I wish I only had one car. I would rather drive my GS in the snow/rain/hail rather than pay $500.00 plus insurance per month for our SUV. However, the wife HATES the Lexus and refuses to compromise !!!!!!!! So I guess I will keep paying and paying for the second car that is not necessary. IMO
