So I installed my roof spoiler over the weekend using double sided 3M tape. It held up pretty firm and I'm really happy with the fitment, but I started thinking man this is a pricey a## spoiler to just have it secured using double sided tape. I would hate to have some idiot just come and ripped it off
So as you guys know this spoiler sits on the roof itself and I was thinking of using epoxy to hold it down, anyone try this ? Or am I crazy for thinking this ? Would like to get some thoughts on this.
use bodyshop grade epoxy and you'll be fine. Like 3m duramix. It will break before it comes off.
I plan on keeping the car for a while anyways, but the only thing is if I were to use the epoxy and for some reason in the future I would want to remove the spoiler I would assume the paint would get damaged right ?
Best bet, is to use some heavy duty double side tape, and tape sections not just 1 long strip. It'll be harder to take it off that way. My brothers roof spoiler was on for 7 years, he had a hard time taking it out. Floss broke, his only way was a heatgun and slowly taking it off.
