Default New GS430

Hello all. I've been a CL member for about a year now but I never posted because I had an Integra and didn't have much to add to the discussions. I am now the proud owner of a '03 gs430 and I thought I'de just make my presance known. Thanks.

Lucky dog! Congrats. That's a HUGE step up. Slightly different torque characteristics from the Integra huh?

Any mod plans?

I think it was a pretty good deal especialy for California. It is $700 a month with $0 first payment or drive off and they paid off $1800 of my Acura lease. What do you guys think? Either way I'm happy with the outcome. The car is Parchment white w/Nav and ML and spoiler and chrome... I'm planning on tinting the windows and getting the Nav system to show DVDs in the next month and buying 19s and a L-tuned body kit in the next 3. An SRT intake will also be in the cards in the upcoming months. Thanks for all the words of encouragement. Who else is in the San Jose area?

Default SEATTLE 4

Hello There,
Seattle 4, did I hear you right? You DID say that this was a LEASE vehicle, right? I certainly hope that you plan to keep this car at the end of the lease, because you may be in for quite a suprise with all of those modifications.

Maybe it is just me, but I for one, wouldn't have leased this car if I planned to put that much money in it, and then have to turn it back in. I used to lease when I changed cars every few years, but I didn't want to lease this car and have to give it back. I opted to buy instead. When I was leasing, there was not much modification allowed from the stock arrangement.

Just my $.02. I meant no disrespect..Maybe I am speaking out of turn. In any event, good luck on the project and enjoy this car.

Keep in touch and take lots of pictures.

Respectfully,
GSEREP1

Congrats Seattle4 - We're in SJ and ours is a bone stock '01 GS430.

Go for the mods but save all your stock parts in case you have to bring it in for service. Just slap the old parts back on and you're golden.

I almost purchased a 2000 GS4 instead but the monthly payments would have been within a hundred dollars per month and I would have only kept that car for four-five years anyway. My plan is to purchase this car at the end of the lease but only if they are willing to deal a little bit. The residual they gave me after four years is 55% which is rediculously high. I figure four years is a long time of enjoyment for the parts I am considering. Most people get tired of their upgrades faster than that anyway. Don't they?
