Just a quick trans question
I have a pretty simple question. I recently got a greddy infometer. I've never been able to monitor my ATF temp. I have a full race IPT a340e trans with a 3800 rpm stall pi torque converter. I'm wondering if anyone else that has a jzs161 swap with a higher than stock stall torque converter can let me know what temp their trans reads after a quarter mile full throttle run. I know that the factory temp sensor could be off but my trans seems to stay between 180 and 200 with normal driving and got up to 218 after a 1/4 mile pull the other day. If it was 100 degrees out this wouldn't bother me but it was in the mid 60's. do I have a issue or is this normal. I am going to be welding a bung for a real temps sensor this week (if I have the time) but any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
