Default 2001 GS300 Inquiry

Hi, I currently have 2001 Acura TL and I'm looking to get into the Lexus world. I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask about the car. If not, mods...please move to appropriate forum.

I'm looking at a couple 2001 GS300. What is the price range I should be looking to pay for 2001 GS300 with 70k mileage?

Thank you,
TC

At a stealership you're probably looking at around $9-10k. A private seller probably $7-8k.

That's pretty low mileage for an '01. Around here if it was a 1-owner car, garage kept in really excellent condition you may expect to pay $9.5k on a private party sale. If it's at a dealership slightly more than that.

EDIT: I take that back. There's one here with 88k miles with Nav/Xenon for $8,100.

Looks like DarKnight was a bit more spot-on.

I'm officially a Lexus owner now. I ended up picking it up the same day I went to look at it.

Overall, paid $7500 for the '01 GS300 with 72k miles. Had to replace 3 o2 sensors so changed out all 4 instead ($700), plus ac condensor ($320). Aside from those major items, did the tune-up, battery, engine oil, tranny filter kit with oil, diff oil, and coolant flush ($600).

The exterior and interior are in very good conditions. I ended up spending $9100 on it so far. Good or bad?

I would like to replace the obsolete navi/dvd system with a decent one. I'm interested in Navi / DVD system with backup camera. Can anyone suggest some brand and models?

Congratulations on the new car and welcome to clublexus! I'd say for an 01 with 72k you did well (At least in my area thats a great price) and with what you've done to it sounds like she should go a long time without needing anything. Also, keep in mind when you get close to 100k you need to change the timing belt and the sooner the better (Unless thats already been done). Enjoy, your gonna love your new car! Post some pictures!

Congrats.... I guess. Were you aware Lexus made V8 GS400 & 430? They get the same mileage as the 6.
Would have went with a higher mileage GS400 with the timing belt already done.

The Gs300 put out the same hp as the 3.2 TL so you'll be fine if you were happy with that output

welcome. I paid 12k cash for mine back in 5/2011 with 78k miles on it so you got it for a great deal. I didn't have to replace all those items you did, but even with that, you still came out on top. Could've even came out better because a lot of those items are easy DIY you can tackle yourself. I "settled" for my gold baby because I couldn't find a saddle GS300...after I purchased it, a bunch of saddle GS became available...which sucks!!

i have owned a ton of cars. this lexus rates in my top 3 i have ever owned. you said you have a TL. acura makes a damn good car too. but i would take a RWD V8 over any FF car i can think of.

I must say though, i saw this TL on FB the other day and its about as nice as any TL has ever looked haha
