Default Push Start Conversion for our 2GS?

Wattup CL, I saw on youtube some guy did a conversion that looked neat like the real deal turned his 2001 IS to the 06 GS push start style. I was trying to google it couldnt find anything about it. Anyone ever done it and know how much this costs and how reliable it would be?

there are push to start buttons on ebay and other websites. all you have to do is drill a hole for the button and installed the switch to your ignition. if you can solder some wires you can do this.

yea i was also thinking about doing this too. i like the system that is made by dowontec st800. but the only bad thing is that you would have to cut your key and leave it on your igintion for the wheel lock. you probably could cover the key hole. but i wonder if that would interfer with anything on our cars. since i know some people said that aftermarket alarm systems on our cars are really sensitative. not sure if that is true or not.

so with the push start, what do you do with your key? Does it sensor if the key is in the car? Or as long as you have the door unlocked, anyone can just get into your car and start it?

This is a good question! Any cons about doing this?

not sure what you do about the key, but with the advanced keys kit, you have a sensors that recognize your car...when you're a certain distance from the car, it will unlock the driver side...and to start the car, the module has to recognize the RFID coming from your fob...

basically, it works exactly like how the 2ng gen IS and the newer style lexus vehicles...

You would have to make a copy of your key, cut it, and keep it in the ignition. Keep it on the acc mode.

Yep, seen it a few year ago when it first came out, liked everything except the key cutting to put in ignition..
