Power steering leak, now ABS and VSV have shut down?
Hey guys I need some help. I started having a power steering leak yesterday and I haven't had the time yet to see if it is a hose or the pump, I just topped it off for the meantime till I can look at it. While driving the it today all of a sudden the VSV and ABS pop up and say "off". Surely this happening with in hours of each other they are connected..
Suggestions of what may have caused these to shut down? Thanks.

Sounds like the PS leak has killed your alternator too. Happened to me a few months ago, exact same issue. I also had a pretty bad noise coming from the alternator and my radio started turning off and on when it happened....

How many miles were you guys at before the leak started?
Also how easy is it to swap the PS hose?

I just cycled my '99 GS400 through the local Lexus shop after my power steering sprung a leak at about 149k miles.
The alternator is right under the PS pump and valve, and in fact I heard what turned out to be the alternator whining a minute or two before the odor of hot power steering fluid worked its way into the cabin.
Unfortunately they replaced the PS pump and reassembled everything after deeming the alternator had survived the ordeal. But the whining persisted, so back in the shop it went today to get the alternator replaced. It's all quiet again...
