Can't Get Rid of Moldy Smell from Rain Soaked GS300
When I was out of town some months ago, a huge storm flooded the streets and my car (no water went into the engine, so that's fine). Unfortunately the car sat with water in it for about week before I returned. I have sprayed lethal amounts of Lysol, washed it down with a little bleach and detergent, and sprayed febreeze everywhere. I even cleaned the cabin filter.
It's better, but very far from ok.
Any ideas????? Getting it recarpeted sounds $$$.
All suggestions are appreciated.

Removing the carpet and airing it out is a must, but won't necessarily kill any mold that has already manifested. It's the same as if your house flooded. You would want to pull it, dry it, use a dehumidifier, etc, etc.. Since that ship has sailed, I would pull the carpet out if the car, which isn't too hard to do. Get it professionally cleaned and treated, explain to them what happened. Most home carpet companies will clean it for like 50 bucks or so since its out of the car. Clean the floor board areas really good while carpet is out. This should solve your problem.
Playing around with mold is no joke though. My beater cars sun roof leaks like a *****. I can't barely drive with the windows up without getting all stuffed up and irritated.

home depot has a great product called "Damp Rid". i would buy 2 and put them in the back on the floor. it will get rid of the mold smell and any dampness that's left in the car. take off the top and place on the floor when the car is parked for a period of time, do it everyday and after a week the mold and dampness will be gone. be careful when you pick up the small bucket because water accumulates in the bottom.
