No, you can do the right thing and retrofit it. I am one of the people who think it is lame and awful looking, especially with the glare. I woud rather run HIR bulds vs. using a china kit.

OP, the damage wasn't that bad. Being from the South, I have seen much more. The deer here is much larger.

I plan on doing a retrofit down the road I have been all over the retro fit source website studying and reading. I actually did a retro fit on my boys GSXR with some an ebay kit that he bought a few months back that came out pretty good, I'll see if I have pics and post them up.

In fact I plan on playing around with my one OEM head light that survied and seeing what I can come up with. I want to do some testing on some cheaper alternitives and post up some threads about them.

I have recently fallen in love with retrofitting so I wanna step my game up on this and see what I can come up with.

I personally like going this route better because you're not stuck with the oem 4-4500k HID setup. You can go whatever intensity you want very easily with the aftermarket kit. The only thing i like better about the oem HID setup is the auto leveling. My 1IS had that, I loved it
Exactly plus like I said I will be using this kit on another project so for the time being I will use them at my low beam kit.

thank you! It's look much more classy with a retrofit. Riding around with so much glare, I hate it.

Well I read the write up on Retrofitting a HID Headlight setup with autoleveling in a non HID GS chassis and thanks but no thanks. I could use that time and money on something else. I'd like to do a q45 projector retrofit but other than that I'll keep my HID kit, looks fine to me. I did it on my GS and my E36 BMW and they both look fine to me, idk what glare you're talking about but to each his own. and as far as the RIGHT thing, I never saw an instruction book on how to modify your car. If there was such a thing, then there would be no need for this forum because EVERY GS would look EXACTLY the same, so what you call "The right thing" is the "right thing" for you, not everyone.

Yes it will take it up that extra notch once I retro them but I am very picky about my mods and I cant just go the regular route when I do upgrade them. So I have some things in the works but after the holiday season.

Search the site for different options. I personally think the best looking option is using the M45 projectors. I like the green hue that matches with the hue on my headlights. I can easily source the parts, I don't know anyone in this area who can do this for me. So for now, I'm still riding around with ugly halogen lol. I think I may upgrade to HIR bulbs for the time beings. The light is slightly more white and the lumens are out of the world.

Where do you source the parts from I have a friend that has a body shop and just missed scoreing some complete Audi headlights with projectors. I dont know if they would have worked or not but still would have been nice to check them out.

The retrofit source is probably where I will be getting my parts from just because of the ease of getting a complete kit and then getting the bracket adaptors from luxarymods.
