Default Bad Day

Someone hit my car when it was parked in a parking garage 2 years ago. I payed a $250 deductible and had my car fixed a couple months later.

Fast forward two years... I was having a great time today until I went to the gas station and noticed this:

I am not sure whether it happened before or after work today as of yet, but I am having the cameras at work checked tomorrow. I hope it happened at work so I can use the video footage to figure out who did it and press charges.

It makes me sad knowing that there really aren't many "good" people out there these days. Nobody takes responsibility for their actions if they think that they can get away with them.

If I find out who did this I will have no problem pressing hit and run charges and hoping that they lose their license. If you can't take responsibility for damaging somebodies car, whether it be an accident or not, you shouldn't be driving.

Sorry about the rant, I just needed to blow off some steam.

Anyway's I really don't want to pay another deductible for another hit and run. If I don't find out who did this do you guys think I could make this a DIY project and use bulk touch up paint?

I know it won't turn out perfectly, but I don't want to have my car repaired and risk having the area damaged again.

That really sucks... Like you said, hopefully cameras caught the culprit and you can have that individual pay for the damage. It looks like you need more than touchup paint to fix that. If you do try maybe you can get a big glob on there and slowly wetsand it down.

If I did touch up paint I would first buff out the area to get rid of the excess red and the smeared paint. Then I would have to put numerous layers of touch up paint down and then finally sand and buff that in order to match the rest of the car's paint.

That sucks! Happened to me a few years ago on my Honda. No note, just a huge dent in my hood and missing emblem. Hope you catch the *****.

That's terrible. That's happened to mine twice now. I figure living in SoCal, no use fixing it because it'll just happen again a year later. Society sucks as whole today.

similar thing happened to a co-worker and it turned out to be another co-worker. looks like a red car with damage to the front or rear bumper is where u want to look. I'd take a walk around the lot during a time that most of the co-workers are inside... not on break or lunch. and prob look somewhere further from where u normally park cause they wont be parking there anytime soon... all this if it did happen at work.

Good luck bro. Hope those camers were recording at the time

My other gs was recently side swiped this year in downtown. No note, took out my rear door, quarter panel, and one of my rims. So I feel your pain, hope you catch the guy or girl.

Yup, like people slamming their door against your car. Sometimes a junker is less stress
