Broken Lower Chasis Brace
Yesterday I changed my castor arms and noticed that my brace (OEM) was broken at the mounting point of the LCA#2. I have a few questions a) could that have lead to LCA#2 failure? b) what are my options for replacing? I am not opposed to upgrading. c) would a broken chasis brace alone cause vibrations? Thanks.
a) probably not, the stock chassis brace is not that strong and aside from the mount being not quite as stable for the arm, it probably has little effect on the arm...
b) you can find aftermarket chassis braces that are stronger than OEM, and probably cheaper than a new one or, find a used one from one of the vendors here on CL or Ebay
c) no, would not cause vibration... in fact, alignment rarely causes vibration, something would have to be very loose, or a tire/wheel issue, that we can expand on if you have more information

thanks for the reply! I plan to purchase a new lcb, like to find a trd to match my strut bar, i am picky about using the same brands, lol. I changed both lca#2 and vibrations are WAY better. I still need to change the ball joints, I am just waiting for my inner and outter tie rods to show before i do that. I will need to then get it aligned. Then i will determine the vibration situation. Still kinda skeptical because the car came with some cheap Privat brand wheels. I need to buy some good quality wheels/tires also.
