Default Thoughts

Recently after driving for about 30mins when I brake the car starts to shake and I hear a clunk. if this is just slowing down and then I need to get back up to some sort of speed, it feels like the car is trying to move in 4th gear and it shakes and clunks before it picks back up. I recently changed front and rear rotors and pads less than a week ago, went brembo blanks and akebono pads. I noticed my rear hubs had some rust built up so I cleaned that off. All the shakes and noise seems to be coming from the rear. I have a 98 GS400 with the 2JZGTE VVTI swap, and using a GS300 gearing. Any thoughts?

Driving around today the car was acting boggy when driving slow (35-45mph), or moving off from a dead stop. Almost like it didn't want to move then it picked up. I know one of the 79 views must have some idea!! Even if you just throw stuff out there.

I am right there with you.

I changed my brakes to EBC rotors and EBC greenstuff. It was working perfect.....now there is a whistling noise from both front wheels. And it clunks the brakes if I hit them too hard.

Along with that, this wheel/tires and neg camber and suspension is going to be the death of me. Already replaced a tire after having them for less than 4k miles. Just pissing me off.......I understand when you mod a lot of **** can go wrong and does go wrong. But ****ing hell.....not like this.

About to get my car looking right and sell it. Getting an IS300 most likely.

LOL, that feeling is not a good one. I just wanted a nice DD that has a little "get up and go", I did not want to be dealing with little gremlins here and there. Think my next car will stay fairly stock for a while, although I DO love the pick up, I hate the little issues, plus I have no patience!! LOL

Easiest way is to take the wheel(s) off and try rotating the hub assembly by hand. It should spin freely. If there is binding then you got a problem. Mahe sure the parking brake is down, the car is in neutral and most importantly, it is unable to roll away or off the jack or stands.
