Totaled 98 Gs400
i work at a body shop. if your car is at a shop now and u have full coverage, its not your responsibility to get the car out in 7 days. if insurance totals it, its their job to get the vehicle towed out of the shops lot. usually if the amount of damage totals around 75% of the cars value, insurance will total it. in order to determine the cars value, they will look at other cars in your area with similar mileage and see what they have recently sold for. then they will cut u a check that will be around that amount. some insurance companies will give u the option to buy it back with a salvage title, but some will not. hope this helps!
lol that's a 7-9K repair bill if there's frame damage. easy 6-7k even without just in parts, labor, and paint.
cash out and buy another one. Your insurance is supposed to pay or you to purchase a comparable vehicle with your settlement so if you feel their offer is low, pull local ads for GS' with similar options, mileage, and age and show it to them.

what do they have to investigate? is there an issue because u werent driving it? the only way u should be responsible for getting it out of there is if u buy it back. we charge insurance companies a daily fee for any vehicle that sits in our lot waiting to be towed out.
too often i see this. The insurance does not want to spend any more money than they have to. Just tell them you can not afford the extra storage charges and that you are saving up. you are the "claimant" and you need to debate your situation. Talking to your own insurance company would be a benefit too. they can jump in the mix if they wanted to. I see people get paid a lot more with a little haggle. show your receipt for any major repair recently done so they can paid you for some of it.
