Default Anybody removed their side and bumper chrome trim?

Been searching the forums, but couldn't find any pictures of those side chrome trims removed altogether. I am planning to do this to my car. I just need to find some pictures on how it might look like without the trims at all. I know there will be a deep indentation on the bumper and the lower door cap. So, anybody got some pictures? thanks a lot beforehand.

I'm not a fan of it, but you should consider Plasti Dipping the chrome trims instead of removing them all together.

The bumper trim is double side tape stuck on but the ones down the side are not they are actually metal. If you where to take those off it wouldn't look good because they clip on to the top of the moulding. So it would look unfinished down the side.

Go to Pep Boys and pick up some 3/8" chrome molding trim. Works like a charm. 1/4" will work also, but you may need to double it (one on top of the other) to make it sit flush like it does stock. I replaced the front and the rear (with the 3/8" one) and they revamped the look of the bumpers. I also used metal polish on the side trim so they all flow evenly around the car. Looks great with a new wash and wax..

Might wanna search on this one because it's been covered many times. I'm only saying this because someone else will hop on here and flame ya for it. Just food for thought......

there's enough room to slide 2 (1/4") chrome moldings, or 1 (3/8") would be enough?

There's plenty of room if you use the 1/4". Do it properly and noone will even notice that you have two in there. The 3/8" fit just like stock with no modification needed...

our cars are really turning into hondas!

please use one piece, dont use two! if anything, get the correct measurements once you take the old one out or better yet ask the dealership for a quote and/or junk yard

Wow, never thought that this caused this kind of reaction.

So, from what I read, I should keep the trim, and just paint it black. My car is black by the way, so I think it should blend in pretty well. Still looking for the pictures of someone removing their side chrome trim on the door cap.
