So i pulled the window out, removed the motor and regulator, and then ran the motor for 6.5 rotations like the reset instructions said. Did not fix the issue. Tried it two more times - still did not fix it. I will probably replace the motor. When it got stuck down it got VERY hot to the touch.

Is this a pretty straightforward DIY job, replacing the motor/regulator? For those of you who've done it, about how long does it take?

Also, what kind of grease is used to lube the tracks?

Forgive me if it's mentioned in Debonair's post, but I can't see pics here at work.

Thanks for posting this up. I've been having this same issue as well. I swear it only happens at the worst time too. When i'm by myself, it's cool for the most part, then when I have a guest or a chick riding with me, it acts up...It was embarrassing as hell at first trying to cover it up. "Why are we still sitting in the car?"..."I just wanna finish hearing what they are talking about on the radio." lol...meanwhile the window is going up and down, up and down like its retarded.
Hahah i know how that feels, have the same problem, and to top it off about 2 months ago a little piece of plastic broke off of a plastic mount which holds cables for lock and handle behind my drivers door panel and the cable for opening the door from inside was lose so the door wouldnt open from inside.. Hahah it sucks rolling up somewhere in a nice ride and rolling down my window, reaching out, and opening my door for me from the outside like a fool lol

Took me about 5 minutes to get the door panel off and the motor+regulator out of the car. Take you time if this is something new to you. Not hard, not even a little but you can break the plastic trim if you are too rough.

#3 is the black trim that goes around the top of the window frame. I dont think I had to do #4 and I am positive I did not do #5.

Debonair,

Did you have to do #3, or no?

Do you have to remove the whole "enchilada" to just replace the motor, or can the motor come out by itself?

In diagram 3, what type of grease is preferred? I have some Mobil1 synthetic grease, would that be ok?

Is everyone replacing with stock motor? I found a recon'ed aftermarket for half the price of OEM on rockauto. Was thinking about giving it a shot. What do you think?

#3 is a single nut that comes off a stud on the door. Then the black plastic trim comes off. This adds no significant amount of time to the job so I would not worry about it. It needs to come off to let the glass out of the door if I recall correctly.

I used some spray on lithium grease I think. My windows are still smooth so it was more of just a preventive measure,

Guys, I was able to find a solution by replacing the MPX door controller. Here's my thread, I don't want to get too excited yet but its fixed my window and I couldn't be happier. Hopefully it helps one of you guys!

Just explained my situtation in your new thread ^

I bought a brand new window motor and installed it and my car was fine for over a month. Now it is starting to get stuck again so I am thinking it might be the actual switch?
