How would you rate your car?
What do you think of these cars? I'm looking into getting one. I currently have a 2005 g35x

and before that I had a 2004 330i

If you think I should get one, sell me! (on either a gs300 or gs430)

So your question is what?
Go buy a GS400 or GS430. Search and you'll get TONS of answers. What does, if you think i should get one, sell me mean? Youll like the GS400/430 alot more then the G35 and BMW youve previously owned.

All 3 are good choices, 3 series maintenance costs are going to be a bit higher than the other 2, but right out of the box they are rather confident in the turns, decent brakes, and comfortable, as well as relatively quick.
I drove my buddies 03 325i sport package car around a bit and I really liked it I was pretty happy with how well rounded of a car it was, Ive also driven a couple G35's, and they are nice too..
Honestly the GS is probably the most comfortable/'cushiest' of the bunch, it may bore you if you are into driving spiritedly. It doesnt provide nearly as much confidence going through turns as the 3 series, but it is a confident, reliable daily that looks nice, is relatively cheap to maintain, very easy to work on, and tons of knowledge (write ups, tutorials, etc.) on how to perform various tasks if you dont know how to. Another thing is the GS300s are rather slow in stock form.
Really comes down to personal preference.

The GS (with a V8) will be much smoother and more comfortable than your G35. After a few of the issues I've seen my friends have with their G's (an 04 and an 05 - both 6 speeds), from personal experience I can say the GS will also be more reliable. You can't mess with the smoothness of a V8.
My personal experience with the GS300
Overall Power (after swap) = 10
Overall Power (before swap) = 4
Low Speed Cruising (after swap) = 2
Low Speed Cruising (before swap) = 10
Freeway Cruising (after swap) = 10
Freeway Cruising (before swap) = 8
Interior Comfort = 9
Interior Fit and Finish = 10
High Speed Cornering (before coilovers/tire/suspension) = 3
High Speed Cornering (after coilovers/tires/suspension) = 5
Ease of DIY Maintenance (GS300) = 9
GS300 maintenance cost will be slightly less than the 400/430, but is very boring if you expect anything to happen when you press the gas pedal.
I agree with buying a 430 is you have no plans of going turbo on the 300.. And handling is the only thing about this car that I'm not so in love with. It is very capable but is not nearly as compliant or fun when trying to push the limits in a turn. Freeway running is where my particular car feels the most at home.
