AFAIK, there aren't any off the shelf kits for OEM nav + single din. Below was my setup in GS(installed around 2008 i think), faceplate was a first attempt. Had another one with flat edges and painted closer to stock nav face.

Quote: if you want something like this then good luck finding someone to install(i went thru this 2 years ago and 4 shops wouldn't touch it).

Alex300,

How did you finally achieve that single din with navi? I want to achieve the same thing.

Alex,
My question was more in regards to the wiring, the face plate is custom and depending on the HU u get it will be a tad different. I can manufacture a custom faceplate, and don't need to worry bout paint since imma wrap it in 3m cf vinyl. I am very interested in the wiring though. I have the nav tool and a flip up single din DVD HU I want to put in place of the stock cassete player. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
cLos

To do this you will have to run new speaker wires and get an aftermarket amp, 2 amps if you're adding a sub or use a 5 channel. On the cassette section, there is a plug with two wires that needs to stay plugged in for the navi and temp controls to work. You can extend the wires and move it to the glove box or trunk. A good place would be where the stock cd changer is. I plan on going double din by removing the ashtray and do a custom fit.

^^ he said it best! My install was somewhat custom, no kits. I had new wiring, 2 pdx's for front focals/rear infinitys and sx10 in a small box. Had the cassette unit extended and mounted under rear deck. And 3bulk packs of dynamat xtreme. Oh do I miss that clarity...ML in my LS460 got nothing on that!
