Default tire popped twice!

ive had to replace to tires in the same week! im running 18x9.5 +36 wheels with 245/40/18 tires. i had 235/40/18 with no problem before until i switch, also its only the drivers side rear? the first time the tire just unmounted itself, and the second time there was a huge gash on the inside of the tire side. Should i just switch back to 235/40/18?

Same thing happend to me while driving on Hwy 5 in Everett. I just went back to 245 and have had no problems. My rears are 19x9.5 and i guess it was just too much of a stretch for my rims. 245's should be fine in the rears. My fronts are 19x9 and the have 235's on them and are doing fine.
