Default Bad acceleration but no check engine light

I have a 03 gs3 that drives great other than the acceleration at times. When I'm taking off from a light or when I'm slowing down in traffic then accelerate before coming to a complete stop. It hesitates first but then when it goes, IT has no issues. Anyone know what this might be? No engine light and no cuttin off or trouble starting. Baffles me...

It's called Drive-by-wire, throttle lag. It's normal, get used to it.

Is there any way to avoid this? I watched it all last night as I was driving home and also this morning. It seems to only get into the good acceleration as it hits 2(000) rpm. Are you sure about this "Drive-By-Wire"?

Mine has done it once in the past and never has ever since. Throttle position sensor can be a culprit.

Mine does that too. It doesn't really concern me due to the fact that these are not race cars. They are suppose to be driven correctly which for these luxuty cars, nice and smoth. But I definitely know what you are talking about. The car starts off kind of slow but once the revolutions start climbing, the car TAKES OFF. Yes, I know it all to well now. Take care of it my friend and hopefully it won't fail on you.

I'd start off with the easiest thing to do - reset the ECU. Simply remove the negative battery cable and let the car sit for 10 or so minutes. Replace it and drive around. You should instantly feel a difference.

If it reverts back to its old ways, try cleaning the MAF sensor and Throttle Body.

Mine does the same thing. Just got an oil change and its a little better now. My brother also has a GS and it actually picks up a lot better.

^^Gonna look into cleaning the MAF sensor throttle body.

The Mass Air Flow sensores on the Toyota and Lexus engines are extremely sensitive so try cleaning it with Mass Air flow cleaner. This use to happen to my 4Runner and it seemed like a loose throttle cable, but after cleaned it had no hesitation any more.

Default Lag/hesitation

I just took my car to the dealer for a hesitation issue as well as my memory seat not working correctly and it turned out to be the battery. I'll take that $125 problem any day!
