If you are on stock suspension get struts from Sewell Lexus. If you register as a CL member you get a discount.

Well what are you trying to accomplish...do you want OEM ride or a stiffer/sportier feel.

SEWELL.COM if you want factory struts. If you want aftermarket, it widens your hunt.

Not sure if I should post a separate thread for this but.....I need new struts on my '99 GS400.

I bought this a few months ago, it was a bit neglected and I definitely want to go all out and get this car in nice shape.
My mechanic suggest new struts and springs with a 1in drop. Does that work on this car and could ya'll shoot me some suggestions on what brands?
Much appreaciated : )

I had bilstein sports before I switched to coilovers. I liked them and they rode very nice .

What exactly is the difference between coilovers and, well not, lol. Sorry, not very mechanically savvy : )

Also, I'm assuming I should do all 4 of them at the same time, whether I need them or not?

I went with the KYB G2's with NF210 drop springs and the ride feels like stock until you hit the turns. I def happy with this set up but wish I would of gone with coilovers because now I want it lower.

Coilovers are the strut and spring as one. They also allow you to adjust how low you want to go where shocks and struts have no adjust-ability for height

KYB G2s even if your on stock springs, the slightly stiffer valving takes some of the float and roll out of the stock suspension.

Be careful buying shocks on ebay, there are a lot of fakes out there. I had supposedly purchased KYB's and they lasted me 10k miles before they all started leaking... My new bilsteins came from http://www.shockwarehouse.com/
