Default Dipping your emblems?

My local Lexus dealer has a vendor who will take your existing emblems gold, chrome or black and "dip" them to a different color. I want to change out the gold package to black pearl. Has anyone done this and is there a vendor I can go to direct? Dealer wants $150-200.00.

Just buy them from someone in the classifieds (or maybe even check prices on new from our CL discount vendors) at that price and sell your old ones. Dipping sounds fishy... you could probably get them powdercoated for half that price.

I don't think they take them off your car.. They electroplate the Black Chrome or Gold on.. Not really a good solution since factory done ones are so much more thicker and will look better for many years versus the ones done by a dealer.. Just from personal experience so I hope that helps!
