Default GS high beam bulbs

One of my PIAA SW 9005 high beam went out yesterday. I'm in the market to find some replacement. Any recommendations?

go HID Hi Beam conversion.

If not I'd stick with PIAA.

I think converting your Hi-Beams to HID is a waste of money since you (you meaning myself and most of the people I know) hardly ever use them anyways. I'd stick with the PIAA bulbs. They cost a little more, but seem to last longer than most.

My PIAA SW only lasted about a year. I put the stock one back on. They look so yellowish but they last forever

I was thinking about SilverStar, any good web site to order?

Did you wear gloves when installing them? J/K

FWIW, You can usually pick up SS at your local autoparts store. AutoZone, or Advance has them around here.

Default Don't go with Sylvania

I purchased a set last saturday and put it on right away. Looks dimmer than stock bulb and still yellowish. This is Sylvania Cool Blue 65W 12V which cost $14.99 each. I am going to return the un-opened bulb later today

Yo Hypermagic:

Sylvania Cool Blue (3500K) are different from the SilverStar Sylvania (4000K). There is a difference is color temperature. OEM HIDs are 4100K.

JacobT, I would go with the SilverStars.

yes, I have the silver stars for my regular lights right now. you can tell the difference. they are much better than stock. i don't think they are as white as the other aftermarket bulbs, but they should last a long time, which i think is more important. i think i paid something like $25/each for mine at autozone. i want to go ahead and replace the fog lights too, that way they all match up. if you want the DRL to be white also, that will be tough since they are just the high beams at low power which usually turns out kinda yellow.

for high beam, I would suggest sticking with stock ones. I have PIAAs and I hardly ever use high beams.

I've got Razo's for both high beams and fogs, and I like them alot. Dex, DaveGS4 and 1SICKLEX can vouch for the color. Had them for about a year, and I drive with my lights on all the time.

Lightbulb Hey guys

Hey guys
I checked out the hi-beams today. OEM stock hi-beams are Sylvania's 9005. I just changed them over to Sylvania Silver Star's they are whiter & brighter too. Look real good w/HID's & Polarg m-6 in the wedge. Jus my 2 cents.

Hey Paul,

Post some pics if you can. Want to see how they look during day and night.

Thank Guys. Just bought SilverStar from AutoZone for $19.99 a piece. Installed last night. They are brighter but not as white as HID. Just wish them to last longer than PIAA's.
