Exclamation coils or springs ????

im stuck....
im online looking for either some lowering springs or a set of coilovers

ive read that coilovers can be harsh on the UCA;s and cause some banging and crap..
i rather avoid that headache...
so im leaning to a 2 inch drop at front and 1.5 rear or maybe leave the rear stock height since im planning on loading up with a system ,,,
what you guys thinks !>?

black and purple...... what model are they? D2s are typically cheaper coils that ride rather hard.

On DF210s (more extreme drop springs) with KYB gr2 shocks and about 75lb of stereo my ride is acceptable in the GS. Large bumps are jarring, so I avoid them.

I posted this in another thread like this the other day for a guy who was asking for the best struts for a spring/strut combo, so I'm copying/pasting here for you to read.

"Even if he's not looking to dump, IMHO, it'd be a better investment. Shocks are like what? 400+? Then the springs I know are at least 200. You're already up to 600 and you haven't even had the springs installed to the new struts yet. Shops charge for that also, THEN to install them onto the car they'll prolly charge more. At least another 200, so you're up to $800, which is $100 more than a brand new set of Megan EZ's and 100 less than the LP's. You might as well spend $700 or buy a used set with only a few thousand miles for a little bit less than that and bolt them in. It's seriously such an easy job and if you have someone with you that's done it a few times you can install all four sides within 2-3 hours time. Maybe even less if you guys are able to work on two sides at a time.

Save yourself all the labor cost and extra cost on the spring/strut combo and get yourself some Megan Coilovers. Then you can MAKE SURE you have a even drop and go where you want to, then if you want to go even a 1/4'' lower you can make it happen. Seriously think it over. I remember when I was first getting into the modding game and I said "Oh I want DF's on some struts setup, that's it.", then I talked to a few people that I met and when I told them this they were 100% against it and talked me out of it. I'm now on Megan EZ's and don't regret the decision one bit."

Hope that helps you decide!

Look in the club Lexus vendors they are selling them for around 640 shipped.

So if I only drop it 1" I can have near Oem smooth ride? What about noise, are they quiet? My othe question, what are the Oem front and back spring rates for a 1998 gs400?

Anybody tried these?
