First off, let me thank the folks that bought my parts from my twin turbo set up. Dealing with the actual buyers was a pleasure, both they and I came through exactly as we discussed. There will be some happy owners of these parts.
I thought about not posting this up, mainly because at the end of the day it wont change anything. That being said , I had to come on here and vent about dealing with my recent part out of my TT GS.
I've been around this forum for along time, and have been one of the owners that always have pushed the envelope on my car. Some of the OG's on here now where Ive been with my cars, I spared no expense on my builds. Now I know not everyone is in a position to do this, but damn man, the insulting low ball offers I repeatedly got thrown at me were just rediculous.
From trying to sell the car, to trying to sell the drivetrain, to the wheels, etc, etc, etc......I had nothing but one BS offer after another. Now im not saying that people cant or shouldnt try to get a deal, but I had people offering me rediculously low offers.......im talking $1700 -$2200 less than what I had posted as the price. You always expect one or two clowns that are dreaming, but this was one after another. Obviously there were some serious buyers, since its all sold, but as a whole this was a frustrating experience.
Has the value dropped on the 2GS to the point where this is now to be the expected? Are we now a forum that consist of people that dont want to, or have the means to spend what it takes to buy quality parts and build these cars as they should be. If so, Its a damn shame, because there are still alot of guys on here that appreciate the cost involved to build a stellar example of a timeless Lexus.
Maybe its just me.......
OK, im done venting......and I feel better now!!

No matter what you're selling this is going to happen, its a shame that it was happening repeatedly on everything you were trying to sell but that's to be expected nowadays.
As our car ages, its value in price goes down, it becomes more affordable to a younger generation. A younger generation usually means no disposable income. They're on the "Cheap"...

I know what you mean bro, I've posted up parts and got some insulting offers most recently my exhaust I listed it at almost half what it cost and still got lowballed lol. I just plan on keeping it. Can't wait to see the new setup SC vs GS fun runs ha ha.
I feel your pain. The same thing has happened each time I've sold wheels on here. I would get PM offers at $2K-$2500 less than my asking price. It's best to just not reply to those.

there is a reason my SIG is what it is.....i sell/buy more than any of the members/vendors on here and its just ridiculous

True, but not exactly. I think affordability of a vehicle is to be expected, and directly reflects prices.Originally Posted by Kzem

I have two GS parts cars, sold a few things here and there, but i have more parts flying off my S2k parts cars then the two GS'. They're just sitting there, anytime someone needs something big, they say they want it and forget to follow thru until 2 weeks later.
My S2k on the other hand, little **** or not, it will sell. Mind you not at feasible prices at times [its a honda parts are reasonable even at a dealer], but i sold clusters, rims, etc and two engines within no time. Those GS's? They're sitting there on blocks and other stuff since i sold the rims and next to nothing other than that <- waste of time stripping an interior on these cars since no one tends to come thru or they offer you 10$ for a master window switch that is on ebay for 120$

Yupe, I can betcha there are NO Low ballers on a classified forum on the Ferrari/Lambo forums. I think older peeps are more respectful...Originally Posted by 01LEXPL

Your parts; used, like new, or in whatever condition is worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it.

Replica qualities are usually much lower than the original. Id rather save up and buy something thats going to last me the first time than to go thru 3 replicas that dont even fit/look right in the first place
