Pioneer AVIC-X930BT Subwoofer without mono amplifier?
I'm considering installing the Pioneer AVIC-X930BT navigation unit in my 2001 GS300. I've read just about every topic on CL and from what I gather, it's necessary to bypass the factory amp. Doing so generally renders the subwoofer useless unless you buy a aftermarket amp.
Here's my question. Since I'm really only interested in the navigation capability and want to keep all of the factory speakers without upgrading them. Is it feasible to just feed the subwoofer out from the header unit directly into the factory subwoofer without an amp? Adding a mono amp for the sub significantly increases the amount of wiring. Is a pioneer device, or any device for that matter, able to drive the factory subwoofer?
The double din nav unit has "MOSFET 50 Watts x 4" but I'm not sure if the sub out is bumped up or not.
EDIT: On that note, are there any good guides to how to install an amp and wiring? All of the guides I've found are incomplete because the images are down.

Excuse my dumb questions as I'm a complete nub when it comes to car audio systems.
The HU has up to 50W per speaker and you spliced the rear speakers to power the sub? If so, did you just pick RL or RR speaker to power the sub?
Is there any way to have a mix of left and right to come out of the sub ?

I don't usually turn up my music that loud but I can appreciate the lows. I'm satisfied with the current factory speakers as they are. Is wiring the subwoofer to the driver rear very similar to the factory setup?
