Connector EC1 location ? Troubleshooting p0325 knock sensor code
Hey, My car is running like complete crap, and it has code p0325 knock sensor (along with catalyst inefficiency code)... I am trying to determine if 0325 is the sensor, harness, or ECU..
The service manual says to swap the connections from the 2 knock sensors, to see if the code changes to P0330 (the other side knock sensor)
makes sense...but i have no clue where the harness is for the 2 EC1 connectors.
does anyone know where the two connectors EC1 are ??
thanks

yea i know where that is. i wasnt going to try to take apart the ecu plug and swap pins. apparently there are. connectors between the knock sensors and the ecu, called EC1. Thats how the service manual says to test.
and oh yea, its an 01 430

Does anyone have a part number or a link for the sub harness connectors that everyone here says to replace when doing the knock sensors ?
I have the manifold off, ordered the sensor, i cant find harness anywhere.

so i found the EC1 wire connector. it is the 2 connectors that go to each sensor, and then they go into one connector over the manifold. So you can actually test your sensor if you get a code for just one without removing the manifold.
Turns out the wire going to the sensor that I got the code for was frayed. Its still intact and has continuity from one end to the other, but I guess it could have shorted and stopped the sensor from giving its signal ? i dunno. but it seems most likely.

did you put the new connecting harness back inside those plastic wire connector housings ? it seems like that will be the hardest part of the job. thinking about just routing around it.

wtf... thats not the right part number I got from sewell. got the part from toyota dealer..doesnt fit. . After i tried it he looked up with my vin, he cant find anything.says its for ES 300 and a few others
If i didnt read that some guys replaced it i would think it doesnt exist. Does anyone know the part number for the knock sensor harness for gs430 ?? i gotta search again. maybe the guys who replaced it had a gs 300. this sucks

Yea i thought maybe it was hidden in that plastic wire protector thing. The clip directly behind the manifold on top of the black plastic wire protector is where the 2 sensor wires come into one, and clips back into the main harness. thats why i figured it was replaceable.
Ill just try to fix this one and i replaced the sensor. Crossing fingers I dont have to take this manifold off a third time.
