Default CD changer problems......

on my way back from valdosta yesterday, i decided i wanted to change my CDs out. i open the glove box and notice that there is water on the mag and the changer. WTF???? so i push the eject button and nothing. so i pull over and turn the car off, push eject again......nothing. go under the hood, pull the fuse in the box, and the CD pops out. i change cds and put it back in. it loads them but when i push the cd button, nothing happens. then i try and eject again, nothing. pull the fuse this time and nothing. so im like to hell with it. turn on the radio, no volume. this is hell. so i drive and the volume comes back. but then i cant turn it up or down. finally after some minutes, the volume control comes back. intermittently, i try the cd button, but to no avail. after about an hour, i try and get the ERR 4 message. no ability to go to another cd. now, i cant get it to recognize the changer at all. its back to showing nothing when i push the button. i am taking it into the shop on monday, but i am wondering what it may be. why was there water on the changer? is that causing the problem. also this morning it is no better. help.......

Rick,

Bad news! I'm guessing either you have a stopped up drain plug on your AC or a slight leaky window. Was it raining during your drive or recently? Check your floormats and see if they feel wet too.

Call me if you want to get together to take a look at it today.

Maybe water in that area means there's an air conditioning leak (condensation) or (probably less likely) a water (rain) leak.

Or that bottle of Evian you keep in the glove box.

Hey Rick, maybe if you turn on the heat in your car and roll up the windows let it run for awhile to dry out the changer. I think it might be wet on the inside. I hope that helps!

Dr.Rick, check your sunroof drain hole. If this clogged up the water will go under your headliner and leak down to the side. But I don't see how the water get into your CD changer. If you need any help let me know.
