Help to reset 2000 LEXUS GS300 Alarm
This is my second post
I had my lexus for at least 5 months. (2000 Lexus GS300). The alarm is not working. I changed the battery of my key. The key seems to work fine (you can see the red dot when you are pressing a button) but the car is not responding. Any help on how to reset the alarm?
Thanks

i presume you are talking about the factory keyless entry. not aftermarket
well you have to have your master key in order to program the keyless entry. it may be something else other than programming if a new battery is installed inside your key and the keyless entry is not working.
however, this is what i used to program a 2nd key. It may work for you, not sure.
--------------------------------------------
1. Open driver's door, keep it open and in the unlocked position. All other doors should be closed and locked.
2. Put original master key in ignition and remove it
3. Lock and Unlock the driver's door 5 times, using the manual lock, NOT the power lock. Complete each lock/unlock cycle within 1 second and the entire process in 40 seconds or less.
4. Close the door and then open the door
5. Lock and unlock the driver's door another 5 times. Complete each lock/unlock cycle within 1 second and entire process in 40 seconds or less.
6. Put the new master key in the ignition, turn it to "on" and then "off" (with 1 second) and remove from the ignition
7. Press and hold transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for a split second,
and then within 3 seconds, press Lock or Unlock for at least 1 second
8. If within 3 seconds, door locks cycle one time, new transmitter code was accepted. If door locks cycle 2 times, new transmitter code was not accepted. If code was not accepted, retry step 7.

THanks for you feedback, AMSMIKE
This is my master key. The battery is functioning properly as I changed it. I will try the advice you gave me. I will leave a feedback later

Hi again
I did what you said. At the 6th line. where you said put the key into the ignition, i put in inside, i turned it on and off and I remove it from the igniton. i heard the door cycle locking and unlocking once. but after i held transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for a split second,
and then within 3 seconds, pressed Lock or Unlock for at least 1 second, there was nothing. the alarm was still not working, help?
