Default Wheels help

Car = 2001 GS300
So I am very new to the whole Lexus scene. What should I be looking for, when looking to get wheels. I want to get 19's or 20's preferably 20's because 19 inch tires are way to spendy. (as I learned from my 350z) What width / offset would be nice for ultimate flushness when I have coilovers installed?

Thanks in advance,
Cody

How extreme are you willing to go? Are you planning fender mods? Stretched tires? Excess camber?

You can look at some of the picture threads (color of car, vip, individuals, ...) and see what kind of look you'd like. I think there is enough expertise on CL to help you. We just need to see what you are aiming for.

Good luck and welcome.

Don't want fender mods. I'm assuming just like on my Z, I will be stretching tires. It will be getting coilovers in the spring, so yes there will be camber.

no fender mods = no flush, The gs has a 3/4" lip inside the fender that will rip through the tire.

Philly is right..u can't be flush without fender mods..but an ideal set of rims with just rolling the front fender and shaving the rear would probably need to have like a +22 offset or less? Someone correct me if I'm wrong..that's probably the least that u can do to be some what flush.

OP I came from the 350Z world before but the Lexus scene is a whole different ball game when it comes to width/offsets. I had a Meisters on the Z with 18x11 +18 on 295/35 no finger gap just with a slight roll and it fits like a glove. Now i run 10.5 +22w/ 255/35 shaved rears and a slight camber and i rubbed all damm day with no finger gap so do you see the different.

You can use a angle grinder on the rears to shave, comes out clean this way.The fronts, just remove the molding and go easy with the roller while heating it up with a hair dryer or heat gun, if you have one.
