Question Programming door opener

Hi all,
I'm trying to get my 98 GS400 to open the gate to our condo building, but I'm not having much luck. The receiver they used is a Doorking 8059-080 80 Memory Programmable RF receiver, supposedly it has a "rotating code". I contacted the installer, they referred me to the Lexus dealer, but I thought I'd give it a try here first. Any thoughts?

Thanks a lot!
Mischa.

Thanks for your quick reply. I did a search on Doorking, so I didn't find it. I'll give it a thorough read.

If the gate has rolling codes, then there has to be some way for it to learn about the new transmitter...

Programming the Lex is only one step in the process.

do you mean one step to program the rolling code?

as far as i know, if you are programming rolling code, there are 2 steps involvoed.... maybe you have a different brand of garage door opener.

He's trying to open the gate.

There's really only 2 steps that I know of.

1) Program the Lex...that sounds like its done.
2) Program the gate's receiver to accept the Lex as a transmitter.

There has to be some way to program the gate to recognize the Lex, if it uses rolling codes.

Programing the Lex is only one step in the process

if the gate has rolling code, he migh have to call the association to let the gate learn his lexus remote... luckily my gate is fixed code... just 1 step and it was done!

If you haven't figured it out already try this. It worked for me on a brand new genie with rolling code on my gs430.

Program the lex reciever as usual. Holding the button down while holding your real door opener button down and moving it until the lex reciever is programmed.

Find your garage door opener instructions. Look for a learning mode/programming mode. On my genie it was just a button on the circuit board. A learn mode indicator started blinking. Then I held the same lex button down and it opened the garage. No problems at all with rolling code!

Hope this makes sense.

My Home Depot Genie Intellicode required me to open up the light bulb cover to access the program button, then hit the car remote button three consecutive times to program it.
