So I just picked up an 03 GS300 last week with 27k miles.
Already got some parts on the way for it, but I have a problem I noticed today, when I park in my drive way and exit the car I can hear metal touching metal some where in the driver side rear, ground is wet so haven't got a chance to peak under to see if I can see what is rubbing. Just wondering if its common or what I should be looking at first. The drive way isn't steep so I don't see why its causing an issue, but if I park on the street no noise. If I rock the car in the drive way I can hear it but not in the street.
i notice my car makes a similar sound when I park on an incline... doesn't have to be too steep at all. I've had this issue with a couple different cars actually. dunno if its just the car settling into place after putting in park. i notice it will rock forward or back a little depending on where i park. nothing at all on flat surfaces. just something i've learned to live with over the years lol but that doesn't mean u should
yea but it isn't steep, no other car that we had has had the issue i'm running into. Taking it to the dealer over the weekend to get it looked at and see if they see what it is. If it isn't raining in the AM im going to go take a peak and see if I can figure it out.
Is it more of a clicking sound? If so its just your cats cooling down. Metal expands and once its cooling down it slowly goes back to normal which causes the clicking/ticking sound.
Yea, haven't ordered nothing crazy, some LED's for the interior and city lights, HID's for the head lights and fog lights, some JDM window visors...and debating on getting a roof spoiler off of ebay. Scared of the fitment though. Getting the windows tinted this weekend hopefully.

Yea its sounds like a clicking sort of, it could just be the cat expanded and its making contact with something, I will check tomorrow and see if it makes the noise while the car is cold. Just figured there would be some play room just for this sort of thing. Like I said its only in the drive way on a slight incline that it does it, on the street nothing.
ty hopefully it looks as good as some of the ones on this forum one day, needs the have the bumpers repainted as the previous owner was an old couple and looks like they backed into a shopping cart or something, but other then that its very clean, black interior too =D.
Congrats on a sweet buy! Very low miles . If the noise your hearing is coming from the rear wheel area maybe the rear axles need to be retorqued. Have someone rock the car back and forth in park and see if you can hear the noise.

ty, yea If I rock it from outside the car I can hear it, gonna give it a rock tomorrow and see if it does it when its cold. Again its only in the drive way on a slight incline that I can hear it, I rocked it pretty good in the street before pulling into the drive way and no noise.
I had a eBay roof spoiler on my GS and figment was perfect. Looked great as well. Check your park brake cable and park brake itself to make sure that's not the metal sound your hearing.
