Default Black Leather To BMW Cinnamon Leather Dye Conversion - Progress Thread

So CL I'm probably the first one to ever attempt such a crazy act... Redyeing my black leather to BMW Cinnamon orange I've always wanted Saddle in my car I have an 02 sportdesign but now I'm getting Cinnamon! I purchased to kit from leatherique.com. I'll be uploading and updating this thread as I go so dont get to excited guys ha. Got the kit a month ago but my parents didnt want me attempting this as they thought I would mess up the leather...? Yeah parents these days, I finally convinced them into doing it SOOOO enough typing and off to the pics!!

Yup thats the black dye coming off the seats

Srry for the crappy pics but now the rear seat is sanded all the way and ready for crack fillaaaa!

Dont you hate cracks in your leather? Yeah me too!

Alright now its time to get serious....

First coat of the dye

Thats all for today guys its 12:40 and i still have to finish my paper for college... o well

The first coat looks good already. How many coats are needed? Definitely a cheaper alternative to swapping and spending 2k for a saddle interior swap... Looks good..

Unfortunately, the paint is going to peel over time. Why not save the money to reskin your seats with vat dyed leather in the color of your choice? The "cinnamon" hyde in BMWs are vat dyed & soaked in a dye instead of painted. You can tell if leather is vat dyed if the top grain is the same color as the underside of the hyde. Just my opinion here..

why didnt you just trade me your black for my tan and it would have been alot easier to dye as its so much lighter? how much was the kit BTW?
