So I got a depo foglight with the yellow film from my friend since mine cracked, he only had one and my other one is clear, I've been trying all morning to bake them to take off the yellow film inside. I've done 250 for 7 minutes with no results and 300 for 4 minutes with no results! What will melt the glue! Help!

 

yellow film or yellow cap?

 

It's a yellow film underneath the cap. Like a tube of yellow plastic.

Is the yellow plastic film cap next to the Muffler bearing, cause it requires 450 Deg in the oven

Doesn't sound like you're leaving them in there long enough. The fogs are supposedly the easiest to split open.

 

Just keep an eye on them. 7mins not nearly enough. takes 10 to get a decent melt for headlights. Crank the heat and check on them every few minutes to make sure they arent melting

 

throw them in the garbage and buy my fog thats up for sale.

I have never had any luck with baking headlights or fog lights. I used a dremel and cut into it before with my last car and worked for me. If you have no luck with the oven just dremel into the fog light, and silicon it to make a seal.

 

If you are talking about the oem yellow fogs and reffering to the yellow capsule inside, you can just break it. There are threads about this.

 

Lol I broke it with a screw driver. Thanks for all the info! Both my fogs are clear now! Putting in my 3000k hids tomorrow.

Preheat your oven to 250 F on BAKE and then TURN IT OFF place the fog light in on a dish and wait ten minutes keeping an eye on it then take out and use a flat screw driver to loosen the glue and if its still hard do it again but one time should be enough for something that small just remember to keep an eye on it
