so you know which sensor is which I replaced my headers and down pipe last week and had a few codes pop up, get an O2 sim if the sensor 2s are bad if its 1 get universal sensors at your local autozone or any shop of that sort and solder on the connector, also replace them yourself get a 22mm wrench with a 12 point end and stick the connector through the 12 point end and it'll make life easier and less expensive than buying an O2 socket, Cali does have horrible emissions standards but I'd replace the headers than the cats IMO also disconnect battery to reset the ecu every time you try something it does help

lol im with you on how much they might be thanks for the help guys
my light came back on yesterday when I was coming home. Ill be back at work tuesday so ill hook it up to the techstream and monitor my sensors. Hopefully its just a bad sensor and not one of the cats. Code was p0420 the first time..
Check the freeze frame and let us know.
I'd check for exhaust leak before throwing money away for a new expensive cat. Get some copper silicone and paste some around the cat's flange. It's worth a try. You'll end up wanting some anyways if you decide to replace the cat yourself.
