Default What is the suggested idle?

I wanted to ask what the recommended idle is, because I just did my valve cover gasket and while doing this, i decided to clean my throttle body, which was filthy, now I start my car it starts up cold at 1800 and then makes it down to about 900 when warmed up, it keeps the same speed when in drive. I searched but all most what I came up with was low idle problems for the 400, I have the gs300.

the reason i originally posted is because I would idle at 400-500rpm and that was because the valve cover gasket, it turned out that much of the oil was leaking in between the cams into the spark plug and ignition coil area causing the problem, therefore after the job was done I wasnt sure if the throttle body should be adjusted

There is no adjustment require because it's controlled by the CPU. Unless you messed around with the idle then that would sucks.

if you think something is wrong with the idle just double check the throttle cable to see if its not tight. before start up.

i remember helping out a friend on his Turbo S2k... he was working on the gas peddle and installed it wrong.. had the throttle cable at like 70%... you can only imagine how loud it was inside the garage when he started the car. haha

If carbon build up was a lot, then Idle will be high until the computer compensates by closing the AIS.

I thought the idle speed on the GS300 is 700rpm+- 50. That's what the repair manual says.

Ye I actually had a lot of carbon build up but now these last few days it came down a little bit more I guess it needed quite a bit of time to reset
