Just so I am clear - since I have the stock HID 4100's all I need to do is order Phillips 6K bulbs and simply plug and play? I don't need to worry about burning the OEM wiring, ballasts or anything else

bulb question
One question! If my GS does not have the HID lights can I buy the replacement bulbs to enhance my look. I reallly like the look! Can anyone tell mee what I can do to upgrade my day running lights, my stock head, and fog light!

However if you still want to go ahead, you can get some good, yet pricey bulbs. PIAA and POLARG are the two best that I've seen. RAZO is another good. Those 3 bulbs in 9006 will give you that "HID" look. But be warned you WILL get less output on the road. ANd depending on the wattage of the bulb you get you may fry your wiring harness.

Hey guys, $460.00 is a great price for Philips 6000K. Hey Rom, let the cat out of the bag and tell these guy where.... I wish I knew that you could get them for $460. Next time let me know about these things... I could hace purchased a Mod with the money I saved...

Hey... i found this on his site.. mods, feel free to take off the add. but It looks pretty clear that the 800ks are brighter and have a more distinct blue than the 6000K OEMs... or something like that.
I read Lex400SCs reply about how it really isnt.. but i gotta question...
do we really like HIDs because they are brighter or because they look good? Cuz I think for $3XX for the 8000ks, no molding, just plop it in, it works really good and is pretty bright to me.

8000K are bright... But not as bright as the 6000K, as for the 6000K they are not stock... Stock ones are 4300K which also are brighter than the 8000K... As for the looks IMO 6000K is the nicest. Not too much just real nice...

hey toog4me, well put it this way, it depends on the definition of bright you using. if you look directly INTO the light then yes it might look better, coz' the light pattern are as focused and so y ou think that way. however if you look from INSIDE the car out, no the 8000k is no where brighter.
and mrsypher was right, 8000k is no match for the 6000k for brightness, and 4100k is the brightest. i got 6000k coz' i like its white. i don't like the blue of 8000k, way too much for me, it's overkill. 6000k is just right for my taste
and imho, i get hid for both look and usefulness. i would hate to get a set of hid which looks very purple (good!) but then it sux on illuminating the road. i wanna see at night. and btw, 3xx for a set of 8000k is reasonable. you can get a pair of philips 6000k bulbs for around 250
