Default New Guy Here

Hey there CL,

New to the Lexus product, I had to opt for a more grown up and responsible vehicle. I previously had the modded out Lancer Evolution. You know the type.
Anyways I am happy to be here and look forward to learning all I can from the forum.

I do have a question and yes I will start searching immediately, but hope to open some communication first. Thanks in advance.

Where can I find a child seat tether anchor for the rear deck? The cars manual has instructions on the use and installation. I will be going to the dealer tomorrow to inquire. I was hoping to get a part # so I don't look like a total ***.

I will post pictures soon.

I don't think 98-00 GS's came with a car seat anchor. Pretty sure 01-05 GS's did.

In the book it says the holes are beneath the parcel shelf, of coarse tapped and ready for the bolt and anchor.
I already felt through the carpet and sure enough it is where it is supposed to be.

To clear things up, I am talking about the tether for the lanyard on the back of the forward facing car seat. Not the "l.a.t.c.h." system.

Thanks for the quick response Thomas.

Well I found my child seat parcel shelf tether. It was around $20 and fairly simple to install. Besides the fact of cutting the carpet on the parcel shelf, installation was fairly painless.

I have a part # for all of those who run across this, keep in mind there is a different part # for each location for the tether. The # provided is for the center hole in the parcel shelf.

Part # 73709-20010

I also replaced a door moulding, it came pre-painted, I followed a tutorial in the DIY's.Pretty basic, no hardcore complaints. My nit pick is that the color is on the darker side of the silver spectrum. In other words, Not perfect. Oh well, I guess it's better than a broken moulding.
