Default sell the GS300 to get a BMW 545i

i currently have a 2003 GS300 with 93k miles at the moment i found out that i can get a 2004 -2005 545i with lets say 65k - 75k miles loaded for a good price like below 17grand .. now i love lexus and love my GS300 no issues at all since day one pops got a ls430 also no issues .. but BMW im not familiar with at all are they cars with great issues once reaching a certain amount of miles ..i no its a v8 and eats gas but damn its worth the power it puts out .

sell your 300 and get a 430. If you're worried about reliability issues, don't get the BMW. They give a lot of annoying little problems. i was also looking at the 540, but stayed with the GS because its bulletproof.

I own both cars, lexus gs300 and bmw m3. Like you say lexus is a very reliable car and it doesnt need to be nursing at all the times but it doesn't bring out the excitement of driving. On the other hand, Bmw is an awsome machine in term of excitement, pleasure driving. However, it needs to be nursing more than the Lexus, which mean you need to pay more for maintenance in costs. Hope that will help you out. Btw, i dont do daily driving on my m3 and that help on slowing down the break down .

okay you guys definitely broke it down for me so the rumors about BMW is true great cars but to many tiny problems ... i cant find a GS430 they are so damn hard to find clean ones with under 90k miles i want a black on black 03-05 or any color on black interior . if i do find one ill keep it till it dies .

I had 2 BMW's and couldn't get rid of them fast enough, my son had 1. The problem in trying to get rid of them, was that some something kept coming up to be fixed before we could do that.

I rather get an LS460. Looks wayyy better than the 5-series. German cars are a pain when they have trouble

I was/am in the same boat as you are now. I was looking at the 550 and the 650i. I even joined bimmerfest. Here is what I have brought it down to. The 545/550 is a blast to drive, but is a real pain to keep up with. The Lexus GS300 is realiable but lacks in the power department. I was currently looking for a Red GS350 with black interior as that car has waaay more power than a GS3. I was sure that I was going for that

But today I saw a black 650 vert and it has me thingking again

Bottom line. If you go for the 5 series, make sure you have warranty on the car.

If you do decide to get a bimmer, make sure to get a 50 and not the 45. BMW had issues with the 45 and corrected them with the 50. GL

you will go broke in upkeep. i think they look great though. turbo your gs3 and it will be faster and more reliable.
