Just a reference for everyone, the damage estimate, (basically a visual, dont really even know if the engine was messed up or not) was a little over $6800, and being 13 years old and almost 170k miles...yea its totaled lol

You can also say, The next one should be smaller and younger

(just a little support for the op )

GTI's can look sick, just a total different category. GL

Absolutely nothing. I have learned my lesson not to mess up a good thing. I know thats not the common thought on this forum but I'm just going to enjoy the car as it was designed. Oh and its a lease, so I can't really do that much even if I wanted 2 lol

What do you mean? You rear ended a person. You are 100% at fault. Cops don't assign any reports unless someone is injured.

Laws are different state to state regarding fault. Without going into the details of the law, the short story is that it was dark out (much darker than the pics made it look) and had been raining, and her brake lights were not working, so because they were not working, and because it was dark, I was not at fault.

Also regarding that last part...Idk if its different in CA, but cops report EVERYTHING regarding an accident here in SC.
