Default Completely stoppin to switch gears?

Hey guys,

I have kinda of a dumb question but when you guys are in reverse ad moving backwards, do you guys completely stop before putting the car into drive or do you guys just switch it to drive while still in motion. Does it really affect your transmission if you don't make a complete stop when switching gears? I would like to know because my parents are always tellin me to completely stop. They shift like granny's. The reason why i usually shift while still in motion is because in school parking lots, you have to be quick to get out.

So i would just like to know if you guys completely stop or not and does it really affect my transmission?

Thank, Vince

Why risk damage to your gears? I come to a full stop then change gears.

its a bad habit but sometimes I have a verry slight roll when I am parallel parking and I switch to neutral from REV or D and have that roll

But in my case I don't think there should be an issue going from Reverse or Drive into neutral while rolling.

Do you go straight from drive to reverse? without stopping?

It's fine as long as it's just like 2-3mph. Don't do it if you're rolling 10mph in reverse though lol.

Gonna be a lot slower if you grind the teeth off the gears by not shifting at the right time.

It's time to let the chirren leave the parking lot and leave when their impatience has let them go out and run red lights and drive like buttholes.

It doesn't take that much longer to do a full stop. We're talking about a second or so.

whut he said ^

seriously, if you dont have time to stop and change gears, you dont have time to drive. you should just beam yourself back and forth to class buddy.

and another thing, your parents change gears like grannies cause they paid for the car and know its value. apparently you were givin a car and do not care the consequences of your actions. hope you do well in school, you will need it...

Haha some of you guys on here really should be comedians, getting all emotional over a simple question.. Just give the kid what he asked for an keep it movin smh like Jeff said as long as it's 2-3mph u should be good, just take your time and let it switch before you hit the accelerator

I usually put it in reverse, back up and slam it in d just so I can do a ricer burn out. I recommend that to you. Have fun

J/k stop then go as you'll be paying for your tranny NOT those impatience folks waiting for you to get out
