Default Help! Car in limp mode

I've just replaced the TPS and Accelerator position Sensor on a 98 GS300. Car idles high (1230 RPM ranges), check engine light on solid, VSC, and VSC off lights are on. I have no throttle response until I floor it. I originally set out to fix a misfire, which seemed to be the TPS.

Not positive but I think it needs to relearn the new sensors that you just put in. You might need to get it reprogrammed in order for it to accept the new sensors.

Thumbs up Update

I took the car on a test drive in limp mode, and the engine shut off after accelerating. I put it in neutral and restarted and the car began to pull to 40mph (2000 rpm) and then back down to 1200 rpms then climb back to 2000 rpms. I've put it back into the garage and had to hold the brakes to keep from running into the back of my garage. The manual you attached is the manual that I've been using to troubleshoot. Thank you.

1st of all, you need to make sure your tps is set correctly. The instructions on how to do it are on here somewhere. To do it right you need a scan tool. I got one from autozone for like $129. Pay attention to what you're doing. I stayed up till 1 am wondering why when I tried to start my car the rpms would fly up to 4k rpm and then die. Turns out I was installing the tps backwards.

The TPS connector is facing to the right as looking at it from the front of the car. I am using a scan tool also, but I can't get a reading higher that 3.5 (suppose to get near 14.8). The RPMs are high when idling.

Default Update

Looks like I put the sensor in wrong, instead of installing from right to left (counter clockwise), I went from left to right. Let me redo.
