98 and newer 528s...msrp~$47k fully loaded, 540i ~$58k fully...and bmws have little room for negotiations...

again, either GS3/4 are the best value $$$ can buy....even if the badge says toyota, i would still buy the "aristo"...or even better.."toyota aristo V300..."hohoho..

one of the main reasons I (and i believe a lot of other members) have the Lexus is because of the lower maintenance than the BMW. Obviously, parts for luxury cars are very expensive, so the difference in annual maintenance costs, ESPECIALLY down the line, can be significant. (compare a 10 year old Lexus to a 10 year old Beamer...WOW!)

If I had enough money not to care, I'd drive the BMW. of course, i'd have to have a GS400 too for when the damn thing was in the shop.....

Finally, Iagree with some of the others who said that with mods this car is a Driver's car. I upgraded mine while keeping the luxury feel in mind. It's not a Supra, but when i want it (and i want it quite often), the power is there to keep driving fun. Especially with a single press of the VSC (Vehicle Skid Control) button so I can get sideways on a turn. I love that!

Too bad it's hard to find a girl like that....fast when you are ready, quiet and soft when you're not. But then again, we'll see what Atlanta has in store for me. Word out is quality females grow on trees there.

best and most practical way to make the GS updated is to simply change the taillight into 01 and up model. it makes such a big difference

and of course the grill... and etc. ahh i can't stop now

Personally, I don't feel the GS's look dated, especially not GS4's with 17+ rims and spoilers. I've seen a few 98-00 GS's here with smoked and red-out tailights and they look nice, fresh, and clean.

btw, what's with Atlanta, PHAT gurls, PHAT cars, am i missing something here? damn maybe i gotta move

Default Are You Kidding Me?

Did you say 16 years old? And you are on this board debating about getting a new GS400. Your spoiled little kid a$$ should be lucky to drive a new civic. If I was your father you wouldn't touch my GS400 at 16 years old, come on. Stick to high school, go buy a new neon it looks just like the GS, ahhahahah

Yo man first of all chill.

I'm working for the GS400, I've sacrificed vacations, weekends etc. I'm not buying the car new, but used, most likely from an auction like I did with the ES300 (bought with my own money, but my dad drives it in winter because the bimmer is never used in snow, and he can proudly tell the world, "I'm driving my son's Lexus"). Honestly, the GS400 has been my dream car ever since its inception.

I'm paying for all maintainence, insurance, gas etc... My parents are helping pay about 35% of initial cost and I plan to pay them back for every penny.

Before you jump to concluding a 16 year old with a GS400 is spoiled; THINK about who they are, not all 16 year olds are spoiled, a lot of us are hard working no matter what we drive, a NEON or a GS400.

And 1 more thing my buddy CHMPNGS, I'm still gonna have CASH left over to set aside for investment in real estate up north in Wisconsin which is why I'm only paying for 65% of the GS400 value for now. YA DAWG, I'M 16 YEARS OLD. YOU KNOW HOW MANY OTHER YOUNG PEOPLE ARE OUT THERE MAKIN' G'S? kid at my high school developed some new database software and was payed 5.1 MIL, he cruisin' in a silver 330ci.

may be if i took out the (16 years old) in my sig you'd take me seriously.

Peeeeesh

But, most of my friends have told me to look at something else, saying the GS is not a "driver's car" (I'm planning to test one this weekend). I love the styling of the GS, especially with bigger aftermarket rims, but my friends also disagree saying an A6 or E-class, even an 01 & up LS is more attractive, and that the GS looks dated.

Naturally, you all drive GS's and must like them, but I know this is a stupid question, is it worth gettin' a GS ?

Thanks
if your friends are your age, then they probably dont have experience with all those cars and driving in general. id take advice from more experienced people, such as the ones youll find at your local lexus forum .

Dude,

Your comment was just rude and silly.

Clublexus is a Lexus fanatic site. Heck, you do not even need to own a Lexus to be here and be cool with all of us. To be cool with us, you cannot be a *****.

What is even better about this site, is that if you need an opinion on something, you ask, and no one will be rude to you, esspecialy if your asking about getting a GS400 or LS400 or whatever.

So my advice to you is stop being a *****, don't speak 'till you know what the deal is, and learn that a Neon looks nothing like the GS.

Give me a Break, 16 years old with a GS400.If I was makin $60,000-$70,000 a year I should not have a $50,000 car and a house. Dude it just cracks me up that people don't have to work for things thats all. Living in chicago is not cheap, and this kid says hes buying a piece of property, come on. sacrificed vacations, weekends no crap come on 16 what kind of money can a 16 year old in high school make. I have worked my a$$ off since I was 14 years old and went to college, and have a good job, I can't afford a $50,000 car. This kid is not gonna pull one past me, so stick up for the little spoiled kid and don't take a joke (about the neon).

It is all good to me which car they want/have regardless of the ages. So what if he wants/gets a GS400? props for Lexus that even a 16 would find this sport sedan wanting

You work hard through hs to colleges, good for you, I totally respect that, but not everyone has to go through it. someone is just plain more lucky. And we all know there is no such thing as "Fair" in real life.

anywayz xenon's sigature do scream recognition though, i dunno why ppl would mentioning family's cars and all, wat's the purpose. guess it is a bit showyy especially some are even sold alreadi.

But why do you have to be so negative? Sheesh. If I were him, I would probably run off or something because people are being *******s to me. He came on this site, asked for an opinion. Thats it.

He has not thrown it in our face that he is rich, he has not bragged, he just asked us if the GS was a good car to go with. There are better ways you could have said that.

"Hey, I think the GS is a fine car, but at age 16, I dont think it suites you because it is an older mans car and 16 year olds should not be driving such expensive cars."

You coulda said something like that. But instead, you said he was a spoiled *** rich kid who was stuck up.

Im not flamin ya or anything, I just wanna let you know that people dont appreciate it when this happens. When i came on here, the same thing happened to me, and it pissed me off. If your parents bought you a GS, or if you had the money to buy a GS, I am sure you would, and im sure you would not buy a Neon in your terms.

I do agree about his sig though. But then again, he said sold, so they dont have them... and he mentioned the VAN!!!

Has it occurred to you that perhaps he's smarter than the average 16 year old, or smarter than you for that matter?

A friend of mine is 28 and has about three hundred million. Not bad.
