Yea I've got 210k on mine and it runs fine and I've practically drained the whole tranny (probably fluid in converter and all) since its been leaking for so long, shes actually running much better.

If you do a little search, you'll fine many who have drained and filled and have been given better performance.
My car's fluid got changed every 30k but it wasn't a full flush. Just a drain and fill. Like Jokster said, most likely the tranny fluid being low from my leaking tranny pan bolt. When i get it back from the mechanic i'll see if it solves the problem.

Well TL talked to the uncle today and he wants to say it most likely is a selinoid problem it may not be bad but he says given what you have to do to make it change gears it is definetly hanging up. Doesn't necessarily mean its bad but is getting hung up in the hydraulic flow of things to where it takes awhile for it to shift gears for you. If the fluid where low gears 3-5 would act much in the same as they use the simular amount of tranny fluid in a simular pattern to switch gears. This is his .02 its not gospel hope you get it figured out.

Is it always waiting until 4k RPM to shift, or just sometimes. Just wondering because anytime I merge on to the highway and my car is not all the way warmed up it will hold gear for a second, sometimes revving up to around 3.5k before it finally shifts.

Try changing it every other oil change. Just a thought. Doesn't cost much anyhow.

That's what i think it is too unfortunately... It only does it in fourth gear and never has any problems with the other gears. But, i really appreciate you taking the time and asking your uncle about this. Did he mention anything about the cost to fix it, or how long it would do this or if theres any chance of it getting worse?

It doesn't do it EVERY single shift, at least i don't think so. But it still does it when it's warmed up.

I don't think it is the fluid. I mean i just replaced it, and it still looks and smells brand new.

Disconnect the battery. I had this problem when going downhill from initial startup, after the transmission is warmed up, it just goes away.
