Default Push to start ignition system...

from Advanced Keys in Canada. $279 for the unit plus another $200 for install (done by outside source) is what they quoted me. I love the concept and convenience of the system, but dang almost $500? Does this sound kind of high just for this feature? Or is there something similar but less expensive and locally that someone knows about?

I wouldn't mind paying no more than $300 (install included) to have this upgrade but any more than that I'll just stick to my flip key

Thanks in advance for your input.

if you only want to pay $300, why wouldn't you buy it and install it yourself?

This is would be fairly easy to replicate with some heavy gauge wire and a relay. You can buy the start button for an S2000 for something like $30 at the dealership.

I am also deciding as well... What should we do? just go with Viper that costs around 300?
I want to get smart key feature though.
For me, I decided to get aftermarket alarm system since I don't have a masterkey.

I saw the same thing and i was considering it. Not only was it a push to start but it also was almost a keyless entry. It uses a card and 2 sensors to detect when you are near the car and it unlocks. When u walk a certain distance away from it, it will automatically lock. Those 2 bundled were 279.99 USD. If i were to get it it would be for the smart keyless entry.

Yeap. Smartkey entry is my favorite. No need key anymore.
I hate having keys in my pocket with my smartphone.

I will be deciding by end of this week.

Check Kipod's build thread. He recently did the install in his car.

I love the idea and would definitely get this in a minute, however in my mind I have this fear that over time, problems would soon start to occur. So can anyone really vouch for this item, I know Kipod has one, it looks great especially with the TRD button that he has.

FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:

1. Our windows down by holding button feature is essentially lost unless u carry the key with you but then that sorta defeats the purpose of the key less system.

2. Same applies to the trunk open button im assuming.

3. Any other things?
